CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SPECIAL AND REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />September 5, 2017 <br />Mayor Thorne called the special meeting to order at the hour of 6:30 p.m. <br />Present: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br />Absent: None <br />The meeting adjourned to Closed Session for the following purpose: Conference with Labor Negotiators <br />pursuant to Government Code §54957.6: <br />Agency representatives: Nelson Fialho and Debra Gill <br />Employee organization: Pleasanton Police Officers Association <br />The special meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m. <br />Mayor Thorne called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember Olson led the <br />pledge of allegiance and provided opening remarks. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thome <br />Absent: None <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br />City Attorney Sodergren stated that no action was taken in Closed Session. <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Mayor Thorne opened the public hearing. <br />Bob Epperly, Chair of the Resident Council at Stoneridge Creek, a retirement community. The Resident <br />Council are the elected of the community. He provided comments on PUD -123 and thanked the Council <br />for the opportunity to have the item on the agenda. This item demonstrates recognition that planning <br />decisions are always open when new information is available. The San Francisco Premium Outlet Mall <br />has been successful beyond their wildness dreams, with the negative impacts of unacceptable traffic on <br />busy shopping days. Residents have reported requiring an hour or more on the last mile home. This <br />experience has been communicated in a letter to the City Council dated August 30, 2017. Pleasanton <br />and Livermore need to enter into a coordinated effort to address the traffic impacts. He understands the <br />General Plan includes openings for two more auto dealerships. And there are more developments, a <br />housing boom, and a new Kaiser Hospital in the area. The Police Departments in the surrounding <br />communities have been contacted and they reported they have limited resources to address traffic <br />concerns. This is the time to reexamine data related to the General Plan and suggested opening a gate <br />for their residents to enter their community. They respectfully requested delay of PUD -123. <br />Mayor Thorne closed the public hearing. <br />
