THE CITY OF
ASANTON
MEMORANDUM
Date: September 1, 2017
To: Mayor Thorne and Council Members
From: Nelson Fialho, City Manager 64../
Re: Item No. 15a — Amendments to Chapter 18.110 (Personal Wireless Service
Facilities)
This supplemental memo modifies Attachment 1 of item 15a. More specifically, the changes
below (shown in redline) broaden the options for wireless carriers to conceal a small-cell-
wireless system. In the prior version that you received, small-cell systems could only be
concealed "within a streetlight." The changes below recognize that there may be various
options for concealing small-cell equipment, e.g., undergrounding the equipment, placing the
equipment within a streetlight, etc. The language continues to require the design to be
reviewed and approved by the Community Development Director.
4. Small-cell-wireless-systems in the Hacienda Business Park. €$r sSmall-cell-wireless-
systems are permitted within the Hacienda Business Park that where they are designed to
conceal the equipment _ -- •. and where the design is approved by the Community
Development Director. When concealed, such systems are not subject to the 200-foot
separation requirement described in section (A)(1)(d) above.
