3 Is the City setting a precedent then, that every business wishing to set up shop in Pleasanton will now be
expecting the same special treatment at the expense of the taxpayer? Would the City give me the same
amenities if I want to open a business in Pleasanton?
4 The votes for and against this whole project were about 50/50 The city should not pick sides If Costco
wishes to open in Pleasanton, then all costs, including infrastructure, should be on their shoulders Since
we personally were not for this project, will the City refund our share of the taxes you would extract
from us for this project?
5 Has the City conducted studies to determine how many mom and pop businesses Pleasanton will lose if
Costco comes in? Downtown is hanging on by a thread as it is, and, if we lose one of our three main
local Grocery stores that people rely upon, will we all then be forced to shop at Costco even though we
don't care to shop for groceries at Costco or drive to Dublin or Livermore to find a regular grocery
store?
6 Has the City obtained any statistics of how many mom and pop stores were lost to Danville and
Livermore when those Costco's went in?
7 It would make more sense for Costco to find a location where infrastructure is already in place such as
the one in Livermore
8 What guarantee does the City have that Costco will stay long enough to recoup the cost?
In summary, we don't want Costco, but I doubt our opinion matters At least expect Costco to pay its
own way and not pilfer off the taxpayers who are already laden with high costs for water and garbage
service, school taxes, county taxes, gas taxes, and more Is it any wonder that so many people are
leaving California for states where a person can live above the poverty lme7
Mr and Mrs Couper
Click here to report this email as spam
2
