see if they would like to resubmit this at a later date just as one possible move - forward <br />strategy. <br />Acting Chair Blank then called for a break at 9:00 p.m. and thereafter reconvened the <br />regular meeting at 9:17 p.m. <br />Acting Chair Blank stated that there was some discussion between the applicant and <br />staff and informed the applicant that there are two options he would like the applicant to <br />consider: (1) proceed with a Commission vote, or (2) request a continuance to a later <br />date to give the applicant the opportunity to receive public input and make whatever <br />changes that may or may not result from that input to the plan. <br />Mr. Grayson replied that they would not want a vote tonight and would prefer to do <br />some outreach and reconvene with staff, and then come back before the Commission at <br />some future time. <br />Acting Chair Blank directed that the record show that the applicant has requested <br />continuance of this item, to be brought back to the Planning Commission at some later <br />date and work with staff to schedule appropriately. <br />c. PUD -87. Sares Regis /E &S Ring — Auf der Maur /Rickenbach Property <br />Work Session to review and receive comments on a Planned Unit <br />Development application to construct 345 apartment units, an <br />approximately 38,781- square -foot retail center consisting of four <br />buildings, new surface parking, and related site improvements at the <br />property located at 3150 Bernal Avenue (southeast corner of Bernal <br />Avenue and Stanley Boulevard). Zoning for the property is PUD -HDR <br />(Planned Unit Development — High Density Residential) and PUD -C <br />(Planned Unit Development — Commercial) Districts. <br />Shweta Bonn presented that staff report and described the scope, layout, and key <br />elements of the proposal. <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br />John Pringle, E &S Ring, thanked the Commission and staff for all the effort and time put <br />into this process for this site, which included starting at the Task Force level all the way <br />through this evening. He stated that he has the full architectural team present: Ken <br />Rodrigues, Project Architect, from Ken Rodrigues & Partners, Inc.; Rob Steinberg, <br />Project Architect, from Steinberg Architects; Ken Busch, Development Manager, from <br />Sares Regis Group, and Paul La Terre, also from the Sares Regis Group, as well as <br />Frank Auf der Maur and Konrad Rickenbach, who have owned this site for over <br />30 years. <br />Mr. Pringle stated that their firm was founded in 1959; they own apartments here in <br />Pleasanton and are extremely excited to be a part of this project.
