Commissioner Narum stated that she would like to see some other configurations at the <br />end of the cul -de -sac; if it is a hammerhead with a couple of houses towards the back, <br />she would like to see this with the goal of bigger lots and positioning of the houses such <br />that a couple of the heritage trees that really had good to excellent ratings could <br />possibly be saved. She indicated that the driveways are fine as long as they can <br />accommodate a couple of parked cars and get them off the street. <br />Commissioner Olson agreed with Commissioner Narum and indicated that he would like <br />to see two of the homes at the end. He indicated that it could be problematic to create <br />an open space back there and provide public access down to that creek as any number <br />of things can happen as a result of that and it would be a problem to the people who <br />would be living there along the road. He noted that the driveways are fine. <br />Commissioner O'Connor stated that he is fine with the driveways as there is a constraint <br />with the depth of the lots. He indicated that he would like to move two homes, one from <br />each side, so the distance between these homes can be bigger and it would just be a lot <br />more attractive. <br />Acting Chair Blank stated that he kind of agrees with everybody that what they have <br />here is fine and that there are other ways this could potentially be arranged. He <br />indicated that he still thinks it is a little too dense and would like to see one or two lots <br />less because that would really allow the amenities to come forward. He stated that the <br />driveways are fine <br />7. Is the on- street guest parking adequate? <br />Commissioner O'Connor stated that if parking is available on all the curb area, then the <br />on- street guest parking is adequate. <br />Commissioners Narum, Pearce, Olson, and Acting Chair Blank agreed. <br />8. Should the layout be revised to preserve any of the heritage trees? <br />Commissioner Olson stated that he would like to preserve the two heritage trees located <br />right up against the property line on the eastern boundary, those marked with a blue "x' <br />on the right hand side. <br />Commissioner Pearce inquired about all those trees marked in purple on the left <br />Commissioner Olson inquired if those could also be saved. He indicated, though, that <br />they may be too crowded and the one in the middle might have to be taken out. He <br />indicated that as he drove through there today, he noticed a lot of trees that looked very <br />scrubby that ought to come out. He noted that this property, the way it is right now, is <br />just an eyesore.
