1 <br />MINUTES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Pleasanton, California <br />March 28, 1966 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL met in Regular Session at 7:30 P.M. on the above date with Mayor <br />Long presiding. <br />ROLL CALL by the City Clerk evidenced the following attendance: Councilmen Bubics, <br />Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long were present. Mr. Fales, City Manager; <br />Mr. Struthers, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, City Engineer; and Mrs. Woodward, City <br />Clerk, were present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was,led by Mayor Long. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL <br />Mr. William Leonard, representing the Associated Home Builders of the Greater <br />Eastbay, distributed reports to the City Council regarding the underground stan- <br />f--I dard for utilities in residential areas and asked that this matter be considered <br />for a decision in the near future. <br />1 <br />1 <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />plication of J. No. 309 rezonin• the •ro•ert located at 852 Division St. from the <br />R -1 to the RG -15 District <br />Mayor Long declared the Public Hearing open. <br />Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission which stated that the <br />proposed rezoning is in conformance with the General Plan. <br />The City Clerk reported that there had been no written communications regard- <br />ing this Public Hearing. <br />Mr. Charles Hamil of 733 Division Street stated that the transition should be <br />to RG -25 rather than RG -15. <br />Mr. Allison stated that it was not economically feasible to construct a <br />multiple dwelling on this particular property to comply with the RG -25 land use. <br />It was moved by Councilman McWilliams and seconded by Councilman Harding that <br />the Public Hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Councilman Gerton stated that he was particularly concerned with the traffic <br />on Division Street as it is at the present time and would be even more concerned <br />if traffic from multiple dwellings were added to this situation. This matter was <br />then discussed. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Bubics that the <br />Public Hearing be re- opened at 8:00 P.M. on April 25th, in order to give the <br />Councilmen time to physically observe this area in question. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Gerton, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Long asked Mr. Fales to schedule a study session in order to discuss a <br />precise plan line for Division Street prior to April 25th. <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Re•ort of the Plannin_ Commission re: A •lication of Stoneson Develo•ment Cor <br />• <br />3150 20th Ave., San Francisco, for an amendment to Ord. No. 309 rezoning approxi- <br />mately 161 acres, as indicated on the Tentative Subdivision Map, Tract No. 2843t <br />located on the east side of Foothill Road north of Tract No. 2724, from the <br />Interim A District to the R -1 District <br />APPEAL OF STONESON DEVELOPMENT CORP.. 3150 20TH AVE.. SAN FRANCISCO. FROM AN AD -_ <br />VERSE DECISION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION IN DENYING APPROVAL OF A TENTATIVE SUB- <br />DIVISION MAP, TRACT NO. 2843 (STONEGATE) <br />Mr. Fales suggested that these matters be discussed simultaneously. <br />Mr. Fales read the report of the Planning Commission which denied approval of <br />the Tentative Subdivision Map for Tract No. 2843. <br />Mr. Ted Fairfield, MacKay & Somps, representing the Stoneson Development <br />Corporation, displayed the map and explained its desirability even though the <br />minimum 20% of lots over 10,000 square feet has not been met.
