1 <br />1 <br />MINUTES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Pleasanton, California <br />January 11, 1965 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL met in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M. on the above date with Mayor <br />Long presiding. <br />ROLL CALL by the City Clerk evidenced the following attendance: Councilmen Bubics, <br />Cairo, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long present. Mr Fales, City Manager, <br />Mr. Struthers City attorney, Mr. Campbell, City Engineer, and Mrs. Woodward, City <br />Clerk were present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was led by Mayor Long. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Councilman Harding and seconded by Councilman <br />McWilliams that the minutes. of January 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th be approved as <br />presented. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Cairo, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL. <br />Mr. Ballard, 581 E. Angela advised the council that he had signed petitions opposing <br />the Job Corpsbeing located at Parks and wished to file them with the City Clerk. <br />Mr. Baker also read a report explaining the reasons he felt the Job Corps was not <br />feasible for Camp Parks. <br />Objections to the location of the Job Corps were expressed by Mr. James Baker, <br />Silvergate, Mr. Earl Pinard, 3545 Vineyard Ave, Mr. Carter 7349 Hansen Dr. Dublin, <br />Fred Roach 784 E. Angele, Charles Miller, 1114 Santa Rita Road as well as by others <br />in the audience. <br />Considerable discussion ensued regarding this matter and it was decided by the <br />Council that information should be made available and petitions both opposing and <br />offirming the Job Corps be on file at the City Hall. <br />The Council also instructed the staff to set a public hearing regarding the <br />possible location of a Job Corps center at Camp Parks for January 18, 1965, at the <br />Amador High School auditorum, and that officials of the Job Corps and Litton <br />Industries be invited to the public hearing in order to explain the proposed <br />program and answer per pertiient questions. <br />Mayor Long recessed the meeting at 8:47 P.M. <br />Mayor Long reconvened the Meeting at 9:011 P:M. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS were not scheduled for this meeting. <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Resort of the Plannin. Commission Re: Pro•ress in Consideration of New General Plan <br />Mr. Fales reviewed the report of the Planning Commission regarding this matter. <br />Mr. Fales stated that no Council Public hearing has been set as the Planning <br />Commission has not completed their hearings and, therefore, cannot, as yet, make a <br />recommendation to the Council. <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Resolution Requesting Continuance; Alameda County General Plan Amendment* <br />Volk McLain Rezoning <br />r <br />
