1 <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />M I N U T E S <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />Annexation No. 38, Stanley Blvd. Annex "B" <br />Pleasanton, California <br />January 4, 1965 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL met in adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M. on the above date <br />with Mayor Long presiding. <br />ROLL CALL by the City Clerk, evidenced the following attendance: Councilmen <br />Bubics, Cairo, Harding, McWilliams and Maya -i Long were present. Mr Fales, City <br />Manager, Mr Campbell, City Engineer, Mr Struthers, City Attorney and Mrs Woodward, <br />City Clerk were present. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG was led by Mayor Long. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL no one addressed <br />the Chair. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS were not scheduled for this meeting. <br />,.REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />'Report of the Planning Commission Re: Approval of Tentative Subdivision <br />Map, Tract No. 2659 (Rosepointe) <br />Mr. Fales reviewed the report of the Planning Commission and stated that the <br />above Tentative Subdivision Map, as approved, Conforms to all conditions. <br />Mr. Fales stated that no action was required. <br />Mr. Fales stated that this annexation was originally intended to invale only the <br />Jorgensen, Regalia and Delucchi properties, but due to a technical legal and <br />boundary problem, other properties must be taken into the City with Annexation <br />No. 38. Mr Fales stated that if it is the Council's policy to only annex the <br />three original properties, two separate annexations will be required. Mr. Struthers <br />explained how the annexation laws would be violated unless the properties were <br />contiguous. Mr. Fales was asked to report on this matter after he had..contacted <br />other property owners on Stanley Blvd. regarding their desire to annex at this time. <br />Annexation Agreement; Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp., Annex No. 35 <br />Mr. Fales stated that the executed annexation agreements with Kaiser have been <br />received and recommended authorization be granted for City execution. <br />It was moved by Councilman Cairo and seconded by Councilman Harding that Resolution <br />No 65 -1, authorizing the City staff to execute the annexation agreement with <br />Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation, be adapted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Bubics, Cairo, Harding, McWilliams and Mayor Long <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Purchase and Sale of Surplus Passenger Automobiles <br />Mr. Fales stated that in accordance with our lease agreement, the City must <br />purchase from John Edgren Sons the five vehicles which have been declared surplus <br />and replaced. The agreement calls for a price of $1,325.00 for Police vehicles, <br />$1,000.00 for Semi Police vehicles and $1;000.00 for Administrative vehicles <br />making a total cost to the city of $5,750.00. No bids for these vehicles were <br />received by the City other than that from John Edgren which was for $5,850.00, <br />Mr. Fales recommended that authorization be granted to issue a special warrant <br />in the amount of $5,750.00 to purchase the above described vehicles. Mr. Fales <br />further recommended that four of the vehicles be sold to John Edgren for a <br />total of $4,750 and the fifth vehicle, a Police patrol car, should be retained <br />until such time as a replacement for the demolished 1965 Police car is available. <br />
