Years ago,the ability
to curb and apply a smoking ordinance was not considered, primarily for financial reasons...within Pleasanton.
Somehow,to think that the culture has not changed and some landlords can care less, about placing
Pleasanton residents in harms way is ridiculous. Town homes and condos should be included.
Before the fire departments were combined, Livermore and Pleasanton, we actually had fire code
enforcement that was related to existing complexes in Pleasanton, primarily for safety reasons. My
understanding is, that we have fire code enforcement, only on new construction. This has been for quite some
time...years. Yep, the essentials to a truly healthy community somehow are forgotten...with those small
details that allowed long time residents to voice concerns about neighborhoods. Glad, that for whatever code
enforcement is even a subject now, Great!
Yes, our culture has changed.
respectfully,
Pete Miller
1
