EXHIBIT A <br /> FIRST AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> ANIMAL SHELTER SERVICES <br /> This First Amendment to Memorandum of Understanding ("First Amendment") is <br /> made by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office ("Operator") and the cities of Dublin, <br /> Livermore and Pleasanton, and the County of Alameda hereinafter referred to <br /> collectively and individually as ("Participating Entities") with respect to that certain <br /> memorandum of understanding entered by them on July 1, 2014 (referred to herein as <br /> the "Contract") pursuant to which Operator provides animal shelter service to <br /> Participating Entities. <br /> Operator and Participating Entities agree as follows: <br /> 1) For valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby <br /> acknowledged, Operator and Participating Entities agree to amend the <br /> Memorandum of Understanding in the following respects: <br /> a. Extend the term of the memorandum of understanding by two fiscal years for <br /> a new contract term of July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2019. <br /> 2) Except to the extent inconsistent with this First Amendment, the Participating <br /> Entities ratify and confirm all the terms and conditions of the Contract. <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br />
