Ponderosa Homes at 6900 Valley Trails Drive <br /> Initial Study and Negative Declaration <br /> b) Create a significant hazard to the public or the X <br /> environment through reasonably foreseeable upset <br /> and accident conditions involving the release of <br /> hazardous materials into the environment? <br /> c) Emit hazardous emissions or handle hazardous or X <br /> acutely hazardous materials, substances, or waste <br /> within one-quarter mile of an existing or zroposed <br /> school? <br /> d) Be located on a site which is included on a list of X <br /> hazardous materials sites compiled pursuant to <br /> Government Code Section 65962.5 and, as a result, <br /> would it create a significant hazard to the public or <br /> the environment? <br /> e) For a project located within an airport land use plan X <br /> or, where such a plan has not been adopted, within <br /> two miles of a public airport or public use airport, <br /> would the project result in a safety hazard for people <br /> residing or working in the project area? <br /> f) For a project within the vicinity of a private airstrip X <br /> would the project result in a safety hazard for people <br /> residing or working in the project area? <br /> g) Impair implementation of or physically interfere with X <br /> an adopted emergency response plan or <br /> emergency evacuation plan? <br /> h) Expose people or structures to a significant risk of loss, X <br /> injury or death involving wildland fires, including <br /> where wildlands are adjacent to urbanized areas or <br /> where residences are intermixed with wildlands? <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING <br /> Large quantities of hazardous materials are not currently used on or in the vicinity of <br /> the project site and none are proposed as part of the project, beyond those <br /> associated with construction and residential activities. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> a,b) During construction, potentially hazardous liquid materials such as oil, diesel <br /> fuel, gasoline, and hydraulic fluid may be used at the site. If spilled, these <br /> substances could pose a risk to the environment and to human health. In the <br /> event of a spill, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is responsible for <br /> responding to non-emergency hazardous materials reports.The use, handling, <br /> and storage of hazardous materials are regulated by both the Federal <br /> 26 <br />
