Introductions/Awards/ Recognitions <br /> Mr. Erickson introduced Community Services Manager, Becky Hopkins, to Commissioners and <br /> advised that she was attending the meeting to provide assistance with any questions <br /> Commissioners may have regarding the allocation of grant funds. <br /> 5. Public Comment from the audience regarding items not listed on the agenda. <br /> None <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> 6. Approval of Federal HOME Funds and City Lower Income Housing Funds Related to the <br /> Housing and Human Services Grant(HHSG) Program for Fiscal Year 2017/18 <br /> Mr. Erickson reviewed with Commissioners the Housing and Human Services (HHSG) Grant <br /> process. He advised that in collaboration with staff members from the cities of Livermore and <br /> Dublin, two mandatory application distribution workshops had been held in December 2016 and <br /> attended by various agencies that provide housing and services to lower income residents. <br /> Commissioners were informed that a total of 30 applications were received from 18 different <br /> agencies requesting an aggregate amount of$1,051,945. Mr. Erickson provided information <br /> regarding the amount of funding available and the applications to be reviewed by the Housing <br /> Commission from Abode Services and ECHO Housing. He noted the amount of available <br /> federal funding would likely not be known until later in the year and discussed a contingency <br /> plan that the City will work with to address final funding allocations. <br /> Mr. Erickson noted that Habitat for Humanity would normally be applying for funding for the <br /> City's Housing Rehabilitation Program. However, because they had only recently entered in a <br /> contract with the City, the current allocation of funds has been deemed sufficient for the coming <br /> year and the agency would not be applying for funds this year.
