THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> May 2, 2017 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT ON <br /> IMPLEMENTATION OF THE GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT <br /> AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT REPORT FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2016 <br /> AND AUTHORIZE SUBMITTAL TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT <br /> OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND THE <br /> GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF PLANNING AND RESEARCH <br /> SUMMARY <br /> A report on the status of the Pleasanton General Plan Housing Element has been <br /> prepared for the 2016 calendar year, per State law. The report must be approved by <br /> the local legislative body through a resolution and submitted to the State Department of <br /> Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Governor's Office of Planning <br /> and Research (OPR) within 60 days of April 1st each year to show the status of <br /> implementation of the Housing Element goals, policies, and programs. In addition, a <br /> report on efforts to meet goals of the Growth Management Ordinance is also included. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution accompanying this report <br /> that approves the 2016 Housing Element Annual Progress Report and authorizes <br /> submittal of the report to the HCD and OPR. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> No financial impact. <br />
