Annette Brecheisen
From: Pleasanton City Clerk
Subject: Master Gardeners Teaching garden at the proposed 'farm' in Pleasanton
SUPPLEMENTAL MAfERiAL
Provided to the City Council
- . --- - - -
From: Betty Nostrand
After-Distribution
Distribution of Pace
Sent: Monday, March 13,2017 5:57 PM 377'17
To: Mayor and City Council <citycouncil @cityofpleasantonca.gov> Date
Subject: Master Gardeners Teaching garden at the proposed 'farm' in Pleasanton
As a member of the Livermore Amador Valley Garden Club I hope you will support having the Master
Gardeners of Alameda County use part of the area to be a "farm" in Pleasanton out by the 680 freeway as a
teaching garden for their many classes and demonstrations. The purpose of this garden will be very different
from the Community garden that is located in the Val Vista park. The Master Gardeners aim is to teach the
community about gardening in our area, so their mission is quite similar to ours but they are supported by
funding from Alameda County.
I know it is very early in the planning stages for the 'farm' but I hope you will keep the Master Gardeners and
their teaching garden hopes in mind when stating uses for the area.
Betty Nostrand
t
