In particular, Bike East Bay would like to thank and commend Mike Tassano and
his team for their hard work on the intersection of Stanley, Valley, and Bernal. And, we strongly support the
following proposed goals:
• Complete Foothill Road Bicycle Corridor Design. This project has already been part of a corridor study,
and we are happy to see the city move forward toward design and construction.
• Design Santa Rita Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements. A Complete Streets design for Santa Rita
Road will help improve the street's overall transportation capacity, safety, and livability for the future.
We are happy to see the project on the priority list. The goal should also to include a pilot project as part
of the study and design.
• Complete Interchange Bike/Ped Improvements Study. This is an excellent goal, and should also include
plans to coordinate with Caltrans on obtaining funding and a timeline for construction for the completed
interchange designs.
I also would like to ask that the Council consider the East Pleasanton project for the work plan. Even though the
project is contentious, this area is an opportunity to finally connect the Iron Horse Trail, and provide bicycle and
auto access between Stanley Boulevard and Stoneridge via El Charro.
Thank you again for your hard work and consideration.
Sincerely,
Susie Hufstader
Community Organizer
Bike East Bay
Spread the bike love by bringing the award - winning Bike East Bay education program to your company, school, or other community
location.
