<br /> low wage workers. For this project AIWA anticipates training 10-15 Peer Trainers, who will then outreach to and educate at least 120

<br /> Berkeley,West County,$2,008.00-Funds will be used to increase and improve the signage on bins so students place food scraps in
<br /> the compost,paper and plastic items in the appropriate recycling bins and only items that cannot be composted or recycled go to the
<br /> landfill. Funds will also be used to purchase metal tongs for sorting, more bio bags for the classroom compost bins and clear bags for
<br /> the hallway compost and recycle bins.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 16-05 Irvington High School's Green Academy, Electric Hand Dryer Installation, Fremont,West County,
<br /> $3,000.00-Funds will be used to purchase hand dryer units and have them installed Installing the electric hand dryers will allow the
<br /> school to effectively eliminate the vast majority of paper towel waste.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 16-06 Leconte Elementary School PTA, Leconte Waste Reduction, Berkeley,West County,$3,000.00-Funds
<br /> will be used to purchase green compost bins, metal tongs for sorting, reusable party kits, clear stream billboard signs, bilingual signs
<br /> and decals,zero waste lunch display table, and provide students with monitor prizes and incentives.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 16-07 East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, District Level Outreach and Promotion Project in Alameda County,
<br /> Oakland,West County,$2,450.00- Funds will be used to conduct a targeted outreach and promotion project at the district level in
<br /> Alameda County. The objective of the outreach project would aim to increase the Green Educator Program Membership, expand
<br /> existing relationships with invaluable people, and explore other program administrators that are ideally suited for collaboration with
<br /> the East Bay Depot.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 16-08 Cycles of Change,Bret Harte Bike Club,Oakland,West County,$2,900.00-Funds will be used to teach
<br /> youth the principles and practices of reuse through the diversion,restoration,and maintenance of bicycles. Funds will also be used to
<br /> purchase tools and helmets,as well as provide salaries for program educators.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 16-09 Jonathan Fong,Sharing Sustainability and Waste Stories through Student Filmmaking,San Leandro,
<br /> West County,$940.00-Funds will be used to enlist a team of UC Berkeley students along with mentor Jonathan Fong to create a
<br /> series of films about sustainability in Alameda County. The unique cross-disciplinary team consisting of students studying both
<br /> sustainability and film/media produces high quality films to share the empowering stories of student change makers.

<br /> purchase compost bins,gardening tools and utilize compost in the school garden.

<br /> $3,000.00-Funds will be used to support expansion of the on campus recycling program by purchasing supplies to replenish paper
<br /> and can/bottle recycling bins in every classroom, improve student access to recycling receptacles in all eating and recreation areas by
<br /> increasing the number of available bins,double the campus composting capacity, and begin food waste recycling in the school.

<br /> $1,112.00-Funds will be used to purchase a new outdoor waste station, and to host the 2"d Annual Zero Waste Night were students
<br /> and teachers will lead and participate in hands on activities with waste related themes.

<br /> $2,250.00- Funds will be used to pay for training for teachers, custodians, kitchen staff,cafeteria monitors and training for the after-

<br /> Oakland,West County,$500.00-Funds will be used to purchase green waste containers, worms and compost containers to start a
<br /> new school garden.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 16-15 Berkeley Adult School, BAS Recycling Support, Berkeley,West County,$1,303.45-Funds will be used to
<br /> revise leaflets that are distributed to students, make posters for each room and banners for the halls and large multi-purpose rooms,
<br /> secure supplies to continue to make a series of changing displays on topics of reuse and reduced'consumption as well as recycling.
<br /> Mini-Grant#: 16-16 Thousand Oaks Elementary,Thousand Oaks Elementary Waste Reduction Activities,Berkeley,West
<br /> County,$2,235.00-Funds will be used to maintain the classroom sorting program,replace broken or missing bins, replace signs,
<br /> purchase and install one new three station outdoor waste diversion station and support cafeteria diversion and education.
