Sincerely yours, Ellen Holmgren,Administrative Assistant City of Pleasanton From: Rachel Harold Sent: Monday, February 06, 2017 12:21 PM To: Mayor and City Council<citycouncil @cityofpleasantonca.gov> Subject:Sunflower Hill Community Dear City Pleasanton City Council, It has come to my attention that there is a meeting tomorrow regarding Sunflower Hill I am a resident of Pleasanton but more permanent, I am a Special Needs Assistant at Amador Valley High School I know many of the families that would benefit from this community and I can think of two reasons someone would be against this development. 1)They stand to make money from something else constructed there 2)Fear. Fear of a community that they don't understand If it is because of number one,whatever they want to develop there can undoubtedly be produced somewhere else. If it is because of fear,then they just need to be educated. I can not tell you a more rewarding job than mine. These young adults have a right to have a productive and complete life. Their parents work twice as hard as most parents for them to become the best they can be. Both parent and child struggles are lifelong. A productive life cannot be fully achieved without an extension of education for the disabled. The parents of the children who will live here will get the respite that they so deserve. These young adults are forever dependent. I know many of these families that would benefit from Sunflower Hill. So many of them are fierce advocates for all children with disabilities and many organizations that help these children as well These adults are a wonderful addition to this community and are involved in making Pleasanton a better place to live in so many ways I am sure that we as a community will ultimately benefit and be ultra proud to say we support the Sunflower Hill Community in our town Kindest regards, 1
