Sincerely yours, Ellen Holmgren,Administrative Assistant City of Pleasanton From:Armin Mahini Sent:Tuesday, February 07, 2017 2:15 AM To: Mayor and City Council<citycouncil @cityofpleasantonca.gov> Subject: Support for Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch Hello, My name is Armin Mahini and have been a proud resident of Pleasanton for all my life Through Vintage Hills Elementary School, Pleasanton Middle School and Amador Valley High School I was taught that Pleasanton was a"community of character" One of those character traits that stuck with me the most was compassion -the simple act of caring for others, especially when they could not tend to themselves Approving this development would espouse that virtue that I grew up with in this community Without a facility like the one proposed by Sunflower Hill and Irby Ranch, the families of these people with disabilities would be forced back to square 1 to look for somewhere to take care of the child once they reach adulthood Pleasanton has changed and grown a lot since I was a student in the PUSD- I've seen the construction of a new Safeway on Bernal, Starbucks in downtown and many more developments If stores and construction such as these can be approved in our community, why not housing for some of the most vulnerable members of our society-people with disabilities? I again look back to our city's tradition of instilling character into our youth, especially the value of compassion I strongly encourage you and the board to approve this project for the sake of my sister, Neeki, who has autism, and to uphold the character traits of this great city Thank you, Armin Mahini, Amador Valley High School Class of 2014
