My parents moved here from
Castro Valley in 1968. So you can see that I have seen many changes to our community in those years. I have been very
sadend by all the development of our beautiful town. I have sat on the sidelines and watched our city streets become
overcrowded, watched many "high density" projects being built, and I have finally had enough' I feel for the rights of
property owners, I really do, but at point do you say"Stop"? If Irby property goes through, that along with the
apartments at Stanley and Bernal, it will overburden 1st street and the surrounding areas. Right now 1St street is
congested "cut through" artery and will only be made worse.
Please City Council, find it necessary to reduce the high density and save what is left of a beautiful downtown. Put
yourself as a homeowner of 1st street and see if you can live with your decision. Right now 1'street should be high on
your priority to preserve, not destroy.
Thank you,
Mike Terkelsen
Adams Way
Silent Majority
1
