FOR <br /> $127,813.40 TO PRUNE AND REMOVE THE EUCALYPTUS GROVE IN <br /> THE BONDE RANCH LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING MAINTENANCE <br /> DISTRICT AND (3) ALLOCATE $127,813.40 FROM THE PARK AND <br /> MEDIAN RENOVATION FUND <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The proposed interfund loan will pay for the maintenance of the Eucalyptus grove <br /> between the Bonde Ranch and Ventana Hills developments The maintenance of these <br /> trees is part of the Bonde Ranch Landscape and Lighting Maintenance District (District) <br /> The trees are routinely assessed for risk given the trees close proximity to homes Most <br /> recently, the trees were assessed in March of 2016 Based on the assessment report, <br /> the City has removed and/or pruned the four highest-risk trees The cost of the <br /> recommended maintenance to address the risk associated with the remaining trees is <br /> much greater than the available funding for the District The inter-fund loan would be <br /> used to implement the recommendations of the assessment Services would be <br /> performed by the City's as-needed tree service contractor, West Coast Arborists, for the <br /> amount of$127,813 40 <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 Approve an interfund loan in the amount of $127,813 40 from the Park and Median <br /> Renovation Fund to the Bonde Ranch Landscape and Lighting Maintenance District <br /> Fund <br /> 2 Award a contract to West Coast Arborists, Inc for $127,813 40 to prune and remove <br /> the Eucalyptus grove in the Bonde Ranch Landscape and Lighting Maintenance <br /> District and allocate $127,813 40 from the Park and Median Renovation Fund <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is a $127,813 40 cost to the Park and Median Renovation Fund which will be <br /> repaid back by the Bonde Ranch Landscape and Lighting Maintenance District over the <br /> next 40 years as money becomes available <br />
