Annette I:recheisen
-ate►v►
Sathject: FW Tennis park proposal
Ti, ,7 2CmCIa
From: Marti Williams Erovizrst tC to Cosy Cono'll
Sent:Tuesday, December 06, 2016 4:10 AM QaP PecNall
To: Steve Kirkpatrick<skirkpatrick @cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Subject:Tennis park proposal 7%61%; 0116/14
Dear Steve
First of all I want to thank you for the job you are doing for our city. We are 24 year residents of the Del Prado
neighborhood. Our family has had the pleasure of seeing the park at Valley and Hopyard materialize from the nothing to
a great place to enjoy friends and family in many ways.We love to walk our dogs there.
One of the members of the City Council did research on the use of the tennis courts when the two new courts were
about to be installed earlier this year. I understood from this information passed on to the members of the Del Prado
neighborhood group that more courts were not needed. Even with the addition of housing at Bernal and 680 I doubt
there would be increased need at our park. Construction might be better and more closely located to potential users of
the courts if they were placed somewhere in the new fields on Bernal.Alternatively, the money could be spend on other
park improvements throughout the city. There must be areas that are in need of repair or upgrades.
Bottom line I am voicing great resistance to more tennis courts at our park at Valley and Hopyard.
I regret that I can not be at the City council meeting this Tues.evening.
Sincerely,
Marti Williams
