Annette :recheisen
II Subject: FW Regarding Tennis Park, two new lighted courts
r au s, ,,® CO3,, 'vH
Ate: DetrzuVo7 ©A' luctic
From: Patti
Sent:Thursday, December 01, 2016 7:07 PM
To:Steve Kirkpatrick<skirkpatrick @cityofpleasantonca.gov> D IS /G//
Subject: Regarding Tennis Park, two new lighted courts
Hello,
I'm wondering if my thoughts will fall on deaf ears. We, as a community, across and near the
Community/Tennis park, have not wanted our lovely green space changed. It's the last of the mature
green spaces in our area. And with so much of our community being built up it was always nice to
come home to the Community and Tennis park sprawling lawns and lush trees.
Is there any way possible that these two new courts can be built in a new park that is scheduled(for
sooner or later) in Pleasanton? It's sad to see those lovely trees come down to make room for more
cement.
I know that our neighborhood has spoken to the city and Parks/Rec department over the past few
months to discourage the building of these courts on the flat area and with great success we halted
that construction. What will it take to encourage you to build these two new courts somewhere else
where land won't be disturbed that is mature with trees and lawn?
Also, as so many people have spoken about these courts are never full. NEVER. Even one of your City
Council member agreed to that. Please reconsider and build the courts elsewhere. I know they've been
on the agenda but life has changed for us here in Pleasanton. There's SO much building going on?
What happened to slow growth?
I hope you'll at least read this letter and give me some response. I'd greatly appreciate it.
p Y g P
`Patti'
1
