on file in the office of the Building and Safety Official Applications shall be accompanied <br /> by an inspection fee established by resolution <br /> Inspection Approval Required.Work shall not be done beyond the point indicated in each I <br /> successive inspection without first obtaining the approval of the Building and Safety Official <br /> The Building and Safety Official, upon notification, shall make the requested inspections <br /> and shall either indicate that that portion of the construction is satisfactory as completed or <br /> shall notify the permit holder or an agent of the permit holder wherein the same fails to <br /> comply with this code Any portions which do not comply shall be corrected and such <br /> portion shall not be covered or concealed until authorized by the Building and Safety <br /> Official <br /> There shall be a final inspection and approval by the Building and Safety Official of all <br /> buildings, structures, plumbing, mechanical and or electrical and on-site permits when <br /> completed and ready for occupancy and use <br /> Inspection Record Card. Work requiring a permit shall not be commenced until the permit <br /> holder or the agent of the permit holder shall have posted or otherwise made available an <br /> inspection record card such as to allow the Building and Safety Official conveniently to <br /> make the required entries thereon regarding inspection of the work This card shall be <br /> maintained available by the permit holder until final approval has been granted by the <br /> Building and Safety Official <br /> 20.04.340 Preliminary inspection. Before issuing a permit, the Building and Safety <br /> Official is authorized to examine or cause to be examined buildings, structures and sites <br /> for which an application has been filed <br /> 20.04.350 Required building inspections. Reinforcing steel or structural framework of <br /> any part of a building or structure or any plumbing, mechanical or electrical components <br /> shall not be covered or concealed without first obtaining the approval of the Building and <br /> Safety Official Protection of joints and penetrations in fire- resistive assemblies shall not <br /> be concealed from view until inspected and approved <br /> The Building and Safety Official shall require notification from the permit holder in order to <br /> make the following inspections <br /> 1 Foundation Inspection Footing and foundation inspections shall be made after <br /> excavations for footings are complete and any required reinforcing steel is in place <br /> Plumbing, mechanical or electrical components are required to be in place For <br /> concrete foundations, required forms shall be in place prior to inspection The <br /> foundation inspection shall include excavations for thickened slabs intended for the <br /> support of bearing walls, partitions, structural supports, or equipment Materials for <br /> the foundation shall be on the job, except where concrete is ready mixed in <br /> accordance with ASTM C 94, the concrete need not be on the job <br /> 2 Under-slab and Under-floor Inspection Concrete slab and under-floor inspections <br /> shall be made after in-slab or under-floor reinforcing steel and building service <br /> equipment, conduit, piping accessories and other ancillary equipment items are in <br /> place, but before any concrete is placed or floor sheathing or insulation installed, <br /> including the subfloor <br /> 1 3 Floodplain Inspection in designated flood hazard areas Upon placement of the <br /> lowest floor and prior to further vertical construction , a registered design professional <br /> shall prepare and submit documentation to the Building and Safety Official of the <br />
