ORDINANCE NO. 2153 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ADOPTING BY REFERENCE AND AMENDING THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL <br /> 1 BUILDING CODE, THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL EXISTING BUILDING CODE, <br /> THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE, AND THE 2015 <br /> INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE; THE 2015 UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE AND <br /> THE 2015 UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE; THE 2014 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL <br /> CODE; AND THE 2016 EDITION OF THE CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING <br /> STANDARDS CODE, ALL OF WHICH COMPRISE CERTAIN CHAPTERS IN PMC <br /> TITLE 20, THE PLEASANTON BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION CODE <br /> WHEREAS, the State of California has revised and updated the California Building <br /> Standards Codes (Title 24 California Code of Regulations) related to buildings and <br /> construction to be effective State-wide on January 1, 2017, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton traditionally adopts the California Building <br /> Standards Codes by reference so that the City has the most current standards available <br /> under State law, with some local amendments related to our local geological, topographical <br /> and climatic conditions, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City proposes, effective January 1, 2017, to repeal those previous <br /> California Building Standards Codes which will be superseded by the State's newest codes, <br /> and adopt the most current California Building Standards Codes, with local amendments <br /> supporting by specific findings about Pleasanton's local geological, topographical and <br /> climatic conditions, and <br /> WHEREAS, the California Health and Safety Code Sections 17958, 17958 5 and <br /> 17958 7 require the governing body of a city, before making any modifications or changes <br /> to the California Building Standards Code, to make an express finding that such <br /> modifications or changes are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, geological or <br /> topographical conditions, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton finds that a departure from <br /> the Building Standards Code is reasonable necessary due to the local climatic, geological <br /> or topographical conditions <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The findings related to local climatic, geological and topographical <br /> conditions as set forth in the attached Exhibit A are adopted <br /> 1 <br />
