Field Resident Engineer During Construction CM, Inc shall provide a Resident Engineer to support the City's Construction Manager and to directly coordinate with the City Design team The Resident Engineer will be the daily point of contact with the Contractor and will report directly to the City's Construction Manager The Field Engineer may perform some or all of the following • Set agenda (with Construction Manager) and attend weekly construction meetings, prepare meeting minutes/notes, and publish within 48 hours • Use options contained in Contract Plans to develop pipeline honzontal and vertical alignment as needed to avoid minor obstructions in the alignment Use bid item costs and schedule of value costs, to the extent possible, to establish cost of 'work around' adjustments • Identify needed major alignment changes (that cannot be resolved during daily construction), and coordinating a solution with the Construction Manager, Contractor, and City staff • Coordinate with City, Zone 7 Water Agency, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Dublin San Ramon Services District • Proactively schedule and conduct meetings with design team, City staff, and/or construction manager, as needed to o Minimize of impacts to residences, places of business, traffic (including the decision to use night construction in select areas) o Assist testing and flushing of pipelines to allow progressive delivery of water service • Develop, review, and coordinate with Construction Manager, documentation for Change Orders (final review and approval by Construction Manager and City) • Review of shop drawing submittals for completeness and transmit submission to designer • Review of shop drawings (non-technical) • Issue Contract Day Statements • Review and track certified payrolls and aid in interview • Review traffic control plans and provide comments to Traffic Department for their approval • Coordinate with City's biologist for Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting • Review contractor's compliance with CEQA requirements • Monitor status of construction, construction schedule, status/flow of submittals, RFIs, PCOs, and other paper work flow/documentation, including o Shop drawing field log o RFI field log o PCO field log o Change Order field log o Progress payment processing/progress verification o On a weekly basis, compile, summarize, return for correction Of needed), inspectors' daily reports o Maintaining updated (weekly basis) set of construction documents incorporating RFIs, COs, as-built information • Scheduling and coordination of specialty inspections and testing (geotechnical, material testing) • Coordination with City staff related to design activities and deadlines
