10 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> ,aoe <br /> ar CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> -3LEASANTONm <br /> November 15, 2016 <br /> Community Development <br /> TITLE: UPDATE ON PLAN BAY AREA 2040 DRAFT PREFERRED SCENARIO <br /> SUi MARY <br /> Staff is providing City Council with an update on the Plan Bay Area 2040 Draft Preferred <br /> Scenario in advance of anticipated adoption by the Association of Bay Area <br /> Governments (ABAG) Executive Board and Metropolitan Transportation Commission <br /> (MTC) on November 17, 2016 The Draft Preferred Scenario for Plan Bay Area 2040 is <br /> intended to reflect a desired regional pattern of household and employment growth until <br /> the year 2040, and serve as the foundation for the update to Plan Bay Area 2013 <br /> ABAG and MTC have shared projections for household and employment growth and <br /> this report provides City Council with a summary of these projections Based on historic <br /> and anticipated growth trends in the City, staff believes the population and employment <br /> projections in the Draft Preferred Scenario are unrealistically high, particularly in <br /> Hacienda <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 Accept update on Plan Bay Area 2040 Draft Preferred Scenario, and <br /> 2 Sign a letter related to the Plan Bay Area 2040 Draft Preferred Scenario <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no fiscal impact associated with this update <br /> 1 <br />
