CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 796 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (e) OF SECTION 2-9.17 <br /> (STanDARDS FOR OFF-STREET PARKING FACILITIES). ARTICLE <br /> 16 (OFF-STREET PAPJKING FACILITIES), CHAPTER 2 (ZONING), <br /> TITLE II (ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT) RELATING TO DRIVEWAYS <br /> IN AN R (RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Subsection (e) of §2-9-17 (Standards for Off-Street <br /> Parking Facilities), Article 16 (Off-Street Parking Facilities), <br /> Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development), relating <br /> to standards for driveways in an R (Residential) District, is <br /> amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> e. In an R (Residential) District, a drive providing <br /> access to off-street parking spaces shall not exceed <br /> twenty-four (24) feet in width, and there shall be <br /> not more than one (1) drive for each seventy (70) <br /> feet of frontage except on corner lots. If more <br /> than one drive is proposed on a corner lot, the <br /> Superintendent of Streets may approve an encroachment <br /> permit if he finds that the proposal is consistant <br /> with the objectives of this chapter and will not <br /> create an unsafe condition for pedestrians and <br /> drivers. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) <br /> days after the date of its final passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
