Resolution No. 04-019 <br /> Page 3 <br /> C. Plazas — Plazas shall be named for persons, events, or entities associated with <br /> major historical value or that have exerted positive influence in the <br /> development of Pleasanton. <br /> D. Other City-owned Public Facilities — Other City-owned Public Facilities shall <br /> be named under any of the criteria listed for Community Parks, Recreation <br /> Facilities,Neighborhood Parks, or Plazas. <br /> Section 4: Procedures for Establishing Permanent Names <br /> The Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to select a <br /> proposed permanent name for any park, recreation facility, or plaza. The <br /> appropriate City commission (if applicable) will hold a public hearing to select a <br /> proposed permanent name for any other City-owned public facility. The public <br /> hearing will be held when: <br /> A. Requested to do so by the City Council; or <br /> B. By initiative of the appropriate City commission; or <br /> C. Upon request of the City Manager. <br /> After of the public hearing, the Parks and Recreation Commission (or the <br /> appropriate City commission) will submit its recommendation as to a name, along <br /> with all considered names, to the City Council for final consideration. <br /> The same criteria and procedures shall be used when considering requests to re- <br /> name a park, recreation facility, plaza or other City-owned public facility. <br /> Section 5: Naming Related to Donations (Donor Plan) <br /> The City Council may formally designate City projects for which naming rights <br /> related to donations may be considered. For each designated project, the City <br /> Council, in concert with the appropriate City commission, shall determine the <br /> levels of donations required for recognition, and the appropriate naming <br /> designation. <br /> Section 6: Alternate Methods of Honoring Individuals <br /> As an alternative to naming a park, recreation facility, plaza or other City-owned <br /> public facility, the City Council may select any of the following methods to honor <br /> an individual,group or entity: <br /> A. Issue a certificate of appreciation or recognition; or <br />
