ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> $P <br /> �V SAIV '®� CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON sr <br /> ' a ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> .4% m RESOLUTION NO. 04-019 <br /> 4tpg •D <br /> RESOLUTION REVISING POLICIES FOR NAMING PARKS, <br /> RECREATION FACILITIES,AND OTHER CITY-OWNED PUBLIC <br /> FACILITIES <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution 66-110, dated July 25, 1966, established the policy for naming parks <br /> and recreation facilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has received naming requests which are not <br /> addressed by the current policy; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council wish to update the current <br /> policy to reflect the current physical and cultural nature of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council also wishes to update the policy to include other City-owned <br /> public facilities. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> The policy of the City of Pleasanton for naming parks, recreation facilities, and other City- <br /> owned public facilities is as follows: <br /> Section 1: Types of Parks,Recreation Facilities,and Other City-owned Public Facilities <br /> The following types of parks, recreation facilities, and other public facilities are <br /> designated for naming purposes: <br /> A. Community Parks (parks of any size specifically intended for community-wide <br /> use); <br /> B. Neighborhood Parks (parks of any size intended to serve the immediate <br /> neighborhood,but open for use by the general public); <br /> C. Plazas (small beautification spots in varied places throughout the City); <br /> D. Recreation Facilities (structures or areas where specific types of recreation <br /> occur); <br />
