THE CITY OF ■ ■ <br /> I -�l L �u <br /> ° ° WO, I' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> October 4, 2016 <br /> Community Development <br /> Building and Safety Division <br /> TITLE: INTRODUCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 20 AND RELEVANT <br /> SECTIONS OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE <br /> ADOPTION OF THE 2016 EDITION OF THE CALIFORNIA CODE OF <br /> REGULATIONS TITLE 24, INCLUDING BY REFERENCE THE 2015 <br /> INTERNATIONAL BUILDING, EXISTING BUILDING, RESIDENTIAL AND <br /> FIRE CODES; THE 2015 UNIFORM PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL <br /> CODES; THE 2014 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND THE 2016 <br /> CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS CODE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The proposed Ordinance amends the Pleasanton Municipal Code to coincide with the <br /> State's adoption of the 2016 California Building Standards Codes, commonly known as <br /> the Building, Existing Building, Residential, Green, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical and <br /> Fire Codes. Local amendments for Pleasanton are related to our geological, <br /> topographical and climatic conditions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Introduce the attached ordinance that updates Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> Chapters 20.04, 20.06, 20.08, 20.10, 20.12, 20.16, 20.20, 20.24 and 20.26 concerning <br /> the adoption of the 2016 Edition of the California Building Standards Code (Title 24, <br /> California Code of Regulations or CCR), including by reference the 2015 International <br /> Building, Existing Building, Residential, Fire Codes; the 2015 Uniform Codes for Plumbing <br /> and Mechanical; the 2014 National Electrical Code; and the 2016 California Green <br /> Building Standards Code (CALGreen). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> No fiscal impact is expected as a result of adoption of the 2016 California Building <br /> Standards Codes. <br />
