RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, IN <br /> SUPPORT OF THE 2016 ALAMEDA COUNTY GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FOR <br /> AFFORDABLE HOUSING <br /> WHEREAS, in response to the severe shortage of housing that is affordable to lower <br /> income households in Alameda County, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors have <br /> authorized a $580 Million General Obligation Bond for Affordable Housing to be considered by <br /> voters on the November 2016 ballot; and, <br /> WHEREAS, housing programs funded through the bond would address the affordable <br /> rental and ownership housing needs of lower and middle income households in the County <br /> including those who are particularly experiencing a lack of housing options in the current <br /> market, including seniors, people with disabilities, homeless, veterans other special needs <br /> persons; and, <br /> WHEREAS, under the Housing Program adopted by the Board of Supervisors, the City <br /> would be eligible for a base allocation of $13,720,684 in funds for rental housing development <br /> projects, and would have access to an additional $27,332,372 regional rental development <br /> funding pool for East County; and, <br /> WHEREAS, programs and activities proposed to be supported through proceeds from <br /> the bond align with many of the City's existing affordable housing programs and could leverage <br /> City funds for affordable housing development for families, seniors and persons with special <br /> needs, first-time homebuyer assistance loans and owner-occupied home rehabilitation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1: The City of Pleasanton endorses the efforts of the Alameda County Board <br /> of Supervisors to increase affordable housing opportunities in the County by proposing the 2016 <br /> General Obligation Bond for Affordable Housing to be considered by voters in November. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on September 6, 2016. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 6th day of <br /> September, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: <br /> Noes: <br /> Absent: <br /> Abstain: <br /> Karen Din, City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Daniel G.
