Proclamation declaring June, 2016 Elder Abuse Awareness Month Councilmember Brown invited Cheryl Poncini, Alameda County District Attorney's Office and Alisha Morales, Alameda County Adult Protective Services, to the podium and presented them with a proclamation declaring the month of June as Elder Abuse Awareness Month. Cheryl Pocini, Elder Abuse Unit, Alameda County District Attorney's Office, spoke on behalf of District Attorney Nancy O'Malley, and thanked the City and Council for the proclamation. She reported that the amount of elder abuse is increasing and spoke about the importance of collaboration between the community and agencies, and encouraged people to report suspected incidences of elder abuse. Alisha Morales thanked the City and Council for the proclamation and the District Attorney's office for its partnership in fighting elder abuse. She reported on the work of the Adult Protective Services and addressed their Elder Abuse Awareness Campaign. 12. Public Comment Allen Roberts, 16 Grey Eagle Court, Pleasanton, spoke regarding Measure K, noting that all votes should be counted before declaring the results. He reported on the illegal posting of "Yes on K" signs and stated that 50% of voters wanted to preserve open space and preserve the hill side.
