Proclamation declaring June, 2016 Elder Abuse Awareness Month <br /> Councilmember Brown invited Cheryl Poncini, Alameda County District Attorney's Office and Alisha <br /> Morales, Alameda County Adult Protective Services, to the podium and presented them with a <br /> proclamation declaring the month of June as Elder Abuse Awareness Month. <br /> Cheryl Pocini, Elder Abuse Unit, Alameda County District Attorney's Office, spoke on behalf of District <br /> Attorney Nancy O'Malley, and thanked the City and Council for the proclamation. She reported that the <br /> amount of elder abuse is increasing and spoke about the importance of collaboration between the <br /> community and agencies, and encouraged people to report suspected incidences of elder abuse. <br /> Alisha Morales thanked the City and Council for the proclamation and the District Attorney's office for its <br /> partnership in fighting elder abuse. She reported on the work of the Adult Protective Services and <br /> addressed their Elder Abuse Awareness Campaign. <br /> 12. Public Comment <br /> Allen Roberts, 16 Grey Eagle Court, Pleasanton, spoke regarding Measure K, noting that all votes <br /> should be counted before declaring the results. He reported on the illegal posting of "Yes on K" signs <br /> and stated that 50% of voters wanted to preserve open space and preserve the hill side.
