Our own boys played at the park as they grew up and their scout troop was able to use it for many outdoor activities. We now enjoy taking our grandchildren to play there. Having the open, level play area next to the playground makes the location perfect for watching children of varying ages and interests. Safety is always a concern when supervising active boys! The ability to see the basketball courts, open field and playground at the same time is wonderful! Please consider this when making a decision about the proposed tennis courts. I am aware that the courts have been in the plans for years, but I also believe that evolving needs are important. As long time residents, we have driven past the park thousands of times and often expressed our gratitude that it provides space for so many activities and is such a used area.To make that space available to (at most) eight people at a time playing tennis, (only some periods of the day) does not seem to be the most advantageous use of the field.
