My husband and I raised our 2 grown children
here and ran our business in Pleasanton for 27 years. We are semi - retired and are currently living on Pleasanton
Avenue and love being close to downtown. We are actively involved in community affairs and are passionate
about our wonderful home town.
I am an avid tennis player and play at the Pleasanton Parks courts regularly. The controversy over the building
of the 2 final courts that have been approved and included in the general plan is very upsetting but it's not just
the tennis aspect that has me writing to you. The possibility of not having the 2 additional courts built is
certainly not a good outcome but the more important fact where once again a small group of people have the
power to stop a project that has been approved long ago and will benefit our community and thousands of
residents young and old for decades to come is unspeakable, undeomocratic and unAmerican. Unfortunately
this type of fanaticism and fringe action is becoming all too common not only in our little town but throughout
1
