RESOLUTION NO. 16-880 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ORDERING <br /> THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON A <br /> CERTAIN MEASURE RELATING TO "AN INITIATIVE MEASURE PROPOSING TO <br /> AMEND THE CITY OF PLEASANTON GENERAL PLAN TO PROHIBIT RETAIL USES <br /> OF 50,000 SQUARE FEET OR GREATER IN THE JOHNSON DRIVE ECONOMIC <br /> DEVELOPMENT ZONE" AT THE CONSOLIDATED GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2016, AS CALLED BY RESOLUTION NO. <br /> . 16-682 <br /> WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 has been called <br /> by Resolution No. 16-862, adopted on June 7, 2016; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council also desires to submit to the voters at the election a measure <br /> entitled "An initiative measure proposing to amend the City of Pleasanton's General Plan to prohibit <br /> retail uses of 50,000 square feet or greater in the Johnson Drive Economic Development Zone". <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1: That the City Council pursuant to its right and authority, does order submitted <br /> to the voters at the General Municipal Election the following question: <br /> "Shall the ordinance proposing to amend the City of <br /> YES <br /> Pleasanton's General Plan to prohibit retail uses of 50,000 <br /> Square feet or greater, large scale retail and club retail, <br /> in the Johnson Drive Economic Development Zone be adopted? NO <br /> SECTION 2: That the proposed measure submitted to the voters is attached as Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 3: That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, the election shall be held <br /> and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections. <br /> SECTION 4: That notice of the time and place of holding the election is given and the City <br /> Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to give further or additional notice of the election, in <br /> time, form and manner as required by law. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br /> regular meeting held on July 19, 2016. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 19`" day of July, 2016 <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Olson, Pentin, Vice Mayor Narum <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Recused: Mayor Thorne <br />
