RESOLUTION NO. 16-876 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> APPROVING AN INCREASE OF THE NUMBER OF DISCRETIONARY GROWTH <br /> MANAGEMENT UNIT ALLOCATIONS FROM 10 UNITS TO 25 UNITS FOR THE <br /> REMAINDER OF 2016 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has had a growth management <br /> program in place since 1978; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance 2112 revised the Growth Management Program in <br /> 2015 (at Chapter 17.36 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code); and <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance 2112 states that for the current Regional Housing <br /> Needs Allocations (RHNA) cycle (5th Cycle from January 1, 2014 — October 31, <br /> 2022), the annual growth management unit allocation shall not exceed the number <br /> of units required to meet the City's RHNA for the fifth cycle divided by the number of <br /> years in that cycle; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2016 growth management unit allocations total 235; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pleasanton Municipal Code §17.36.080.A.2.c. allows the City <br /> Council to increase the number of allowable annual growth management unit <br /> allocations subject to discretionary approval of the zoning administrator based on <br /> demonstrated need from the statutory ten (10) units; and <br /> WHEREAS, a duly noticed hearing concerning such growth management <br /> discretionary allocations increase was held by the City Council on July 19, 2016; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City to <br /> increase the number of discretionary growth management unit allocations from 10 <br /> units to 25 units for the remainder of 2016. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND <br /> ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Approves the increase in the number of discretionary growth <br /> management unit allocations subject to the discretionary approval of the zoning <br /> administrator from 10 units to 25 units for the remainder of 2016. <br /> SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its <br /> adoption. <br />
