Attachment 3 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ORDERING THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON A CERTAIN MEASURE RELATING TO "AN INITIATIVE MEASURE <br />PROPOSING TO AMEND THE CITY OF PLEASANTON'S GENERAL PLAN TO <br />PROHIBIT RETAIL USES OF 50,000 SQUARE FEET OR GREATER IN THE <br />JOHNSON DRIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ZONE" AT THE GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2016, AS <br />CALLED BY RESOLUTION NO. 16 -682 <br />WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 has been <br />called by Resolution No. 16 -862, adopted on June 7, 2017; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council also desires to submit to the voters at the election a <br />measure entitled "An initiative measure proposing to amend the City of Pleasanton's General <br />Plan to prohibit retail uses of 50,000 square feet or greater in the Johnson Drive Economic <br />Development Zone "; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />SECTION 1: That the City Council pursuant to its right and authority, does order <br />submitted to the voters at the General Municipal Election the following question: <br />YES <br />NO <br />SECTION 2: That the proposed measure submitted to the voters is attached as Exhibit A. <br />SECTION 3: That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, the election shall be held and <br />conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections. <br />SECTION 4: That notice of the time and place of holding the election is given and the City Clerk <br />is authorized, instructed and directed to give further or additional notice of the election, in time, <br />form and manner as required by law. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br />a regular meeting held on July 19, 2016. <br />I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br />resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on July 19, 2016, by the <br />following vote: <br />Ayes: <br />Noes: <br />Absent: <br />Abstain: <br />
