Karen Diaz
Subject: FW: Change to Old Foothill Road -Item No. 15
SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
From: Karen Diaz Provided to the City Council
Sent:Tuesday,June 21, 2016 11:54 AM After Distribution of Packet
To: Mayor and City Council<citycouncil @cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Subject: FW: Change to Old Foothill Road - Item No. 15 _ Date r/a`//
From: Cc Ko
Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2016 7:20 AM
To: Brian Dolan
Subject: Change to Old Foothill Road
Dear Brian,
I have just returned home to discover the "Notice of Meeting" regarding the conversion
of Old Foothill Road to southbound one-way traffic. Our driveway is near the intersection
of Foothill Road and Old Foothill (3832 Foothill Road).
We have some concerns about this project:
(1) Disruption of plantings at site of proposed right turn southbound lane which were
planted to mediate additional traffic when new Foothill was created. We hope to
retain these plants/trees.
(2) Fragile condition of drain from our creek under Foothill Road with the proposed
road work in that area. It is very old and the concrete structure surrounding it is
cracking.
(3) Placement of restrooms in the pristine natural area seems unsightly and ill advised.
(4) Overflow parking. Already when there are large events at the Alviso Adobe there
is a problem with cars parking anywhere and everywhere.
Your consideration of our concerns will be greatly appreciated.
C. C. Ostle
1
