be adequate to meet all customer water demands. The following mandatory restrictions shall be <br /> applicable during a Stage 2 activation of the water shortage contingency plan: <br /> 1. All of the prohibitions, restrictions, and recommendations set forth during adequate <br /> supply and voluntary Stage 1 level supply, shall all be in effect and shall all be mandatory. <br /> 2. Outdoor irrigation of lawn and ornamental landscaping shall be limited to one day per <br /> week October through March, and no more than three non-consecutive days per week April through <br /> September. Irrigation system checks for breaks/leak repairs by present irrigation professionals who <br /> remain on-site directly observing the system are excluded. <br /> 3. Restaurant kitchens shall be equipped with low-flow rinse nozzles. <br /> D. Level: Stage 3—Up to 35% Mandatory Reduction.There are definable events that lead <br /> to a firm conclusion that in the current water year, water supplies will not be adequate to meet <br /> customers'water demands. The following mandatory restrictions shall be applicable during a Stage 3 <br /> activation of the water shortage contingency plan: <br /> 1. All of the prohibitions, restrictions, and recommendations set forth during adequate <br /> supply, voluntary Stage 1 level supply , and Stage 2 level supply, shall all be in effect and shall all be <br /> mandatory. <br /> 2. Outdoor watering under Stage 3 is restricted as follows: <br /> a. 20 through 25% Mandatory Reduction. Lawn watering and landscape irrigation, for all <br /> customer classes, shall be reduced to no more than one day per week during the months of October <br /> through March, and no more than two non-consecutive days per week during the months of April <br /> through September. <br /> b. 26 through 35% Mandatory Reduction: <br /> Single-family residential individually metered and multi-family (non-irrigation) classes <br /> shall be limited in the use of all outdoor watering to hand-watering using a hose with a positive shut- <br /> off nozzle, drip, or subsurface irrigation on two non-consecutive days only. <br /> ii. All other water customers classes not falling under subsection (D)(2)(b)(i) (with the <br /> exception of commercial nurseries, public sport fields, golf courses, and other water dependent <br /> industries, per subsection (D)(2)(b)(iii)) shall be limited in the use of all outdoor watering to hand- <br /> watering using a hose with a positive shut-off nozzle, drip, or subsurface irrigation to two non- <br /> consecutive weekdays; specified as Mondays and Thursdays unless otherwise granted permission for <br /> alternate watering days by the director. <br /> iii. Commercial nurseries, public sport fields, golf courses and other water dependent <br /> industries shall work together with city staff under the direction of the director to develop an <br /> approved irrigation schedule. <br /> c. Irrigation system checks for breaks/leak repairs by on-site irrigation professionals who <br /> remain on-site directly observing the system are excluded. <br /> 3. No person shall empty and refill a swimming pool except to prevent or repair <br /> structural damage or to comply with public health regulations. <br /> 4. Potable water shall not be used for decorative ponds, basins, lakes, waterways, and <br /> fountains. <br /> 5. Washing of autos,trucks, trailers, and other types of mobile equipment is permitted <br /> only at commercial car wash facilities that recycle all or part of the water. <br /> Page 4 of 8 <br />
