In addition, the City of Pleasanton and the
Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) applied for a Caltrans Sustainable
Transportation Planning Grant to fund this project. If the City of Pleasanton and the
Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) are awarded grant funding, then the
funding from the City's General Fund for the assessment will be significantly reduced.
Additionally, the cost of the City's "Downtown Route" program is $55,215. The City
anticipates receiving $45,623 from the Alameda County Transportation Commission's
(Alameda CTC) Cycle 5 Gap Grant Extension Funds thus reducing the City's
contribution from the General Fund to $9,592 in FY 2016/2017. As a result of receiving
the Cycle 5 Gap Grant funding, the City will continue to provide the fixed route shuttle
program which also includes training, outreach, education and mobility coordination with
other Tri-Valley transportation providers (Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority and
Senior Support Program of the Tri-Valley Volunteer Driver Program).
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
As an existing/continuing program, Pleasanton Paratransit Service is exempt from the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) that may be required under this funding
process.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
Susan Andrade-Wax PiriTina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Community Services Finance Director City Manager
Attachment:
1.
