June 7, 2016 Community Services Department TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATIONS TO THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS AND THE ALAMEDA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR MEASURE B/BB FUNDS FOR THE PARATRANSIT DOOR-TO-DOOR PROGRAM SUMMARY The Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides for the disbursement of funds through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for the purpose of providing community transit services to local residents. Measure B/BB provides for the disbursement of funds through the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) for the purpose of providing community transit services to seniors and people with disabilities. Eligible agencies like the City of Pleasanton are required annually to file applications with both the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) to receive their funding allocation. RECOMMENDATION That the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager or his designee to submit an application to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for Transportation Development Act (TDA) funds and Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) for Measure B/ BB Funds for the Paratransit "Door-to- Door" program. FINANCIAL STATEMENT The total cost of the City's Paratransit Door-to-Door program is $812,250. The City expects to receive funding from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission ($67,174) and the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Measure B/BB - $272,439). In addition, the City should also generate another $30,000 in fares, thus reducing the City's contribution from the General Fund to $442,637 in FY 2016/2017.
