Scope of Services 2016/2017 <br /> 1) Bay Area Children's Theatre (BACT)will produce three productions in partnership with the City <br /> of Pleasanton's Civic Arts Stage Company. <br /> 2) BACT shall secure the rights for pre-existing scripts and adaptations of pre-existing work. <br /> 3) For the 2016/2017 Season BACT will produce the following three shows: <br /> a. Fall: The Phantom Tollbooth, Jr. <br /> b. Winter: The Sound of Music, Getting To Know Edition <br /> c. Spring: EITHER Madagascar Jr. OR James and the Giant Peach Jr. <br /> 4) BACT shall provide all Artistic and Stage Director services; as such, BACT shall cast each <br /> show, conduct rehearsals, work with designers and carry out the artistic vision for the show <br /> and the program overall. <br /> 5) BACT shall provide one production stage manager to coordinate rehearsals, technical aspects <br /> and "call" each show. BACT shall also provide an ASM/props person to further enhance the <br /> supervision of the production. <br /> 6) BACT shall provide all design elements reasonably necessary including: <br /> a. Set Design - BACT shall employ a Set designer and builders to create a set appropriate <br /> for each production. <br /> b. Costume Design —BACT shall employ a Costume designer and builder to create, rent, <br /> or"pull" all costumes appropriate for this production. BACT will keep whatever <br /> costumes it"builds". <br /> c. Lighting Design - BACT shall employ a Lighting designer to create light plot, supervise <br /> light hang and focus and work with director to create cues to enhance theatrical <br /> production. Lighting designer will use only existing lighting equipment inventory of the <br /> Amador and Firehouse Theaters, and will use existing light plot(s) with minimal <br /> changes, unless agreed to in advance by City of Pleasanton. <br /> d. Props - BACT shall acquire all props needed for each production, either by renting, <br /> building or purchasing each prop. BACT will keep whatever props it "builds". <br /> e. Choreographer, Music Director, High Quality Recorded Musical Tracks—for musicals, <br /> BACT shall also provide these additional elements. <br /> f. Special skills (puppetry, fight choreographer, etc) as reasonably required by specific <br /> production. <br /> g. BACT shall provide one person to design all sound aspects of each show, attend all <br /> necessary production meetings, and run the sound board for every performance. Such <br /> staff person shall attend all rehearsals and performances as reasonably required. <br /> 7) BACT will facilitate collaboration with City of Pleasanton staff by sharing design concepts as <br /> they are developed. <br /> 8) BACT will provide build space at its scene shop for all scenic elements. <br /> 9) BACT will coordinate with theater tech staff to deliver all design elements built off-site to the <br /> Firehouse Theater/Amador Theater at previously scheduled dates and times to coincide with <br /> production schedule. BACT will inform City Staff as soon as possible of all rehearsal/show <br /> dates. BACT will immediately inform the Supervisor and Lead Technician of any needed <br /> changes to the schedule. <br />
