THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL EASANTONo <br /> June 7, 2016 <br /> City Manager's Office <br /> City Clerk Division <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> TO BE HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2016, FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> ELECTING A MAYOR AND TWO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; <br /> AND REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL <br /> ELECTION <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The purpose of November 2016 election is to elect a Mayor for a two-year term and two <br /> members of the City Council, each for a four-year term. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt a resolution calling for the holding of a General Municipal Election to be held <br /> Tuesday, November 8, 2016, and a resolution requesting that the County of Alameda <br /> Board of Supervisors consent to consolidation of the General Municipal Election with <br /> the Statewide General Election. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding is allocated in the approved Fiscal Year 2016/17 Operating Budget. <br />
