NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The Fire Inspector is ordered to abate the nuisance declared by Resolution No. 16 -833 by causing the weeds, dirt, rubbish and refuse to be removed by the City or a contractor awarded the work by the City for the removal of weeds, rubbish or refuse, and for this purpose, the Fire Inspector (and /or the Fire Inspector's designee) and /or the contractor may enter upon private property to abate the nuisance. Before the weeds are abated by the City or a contractor, any property owner may remove the weeds, rubbish or refuse at the property owner's own expense. SECTION 2. The Fire Department or the contractor, as the case may be, shall keep an account of the cost of abatement for each separate parcel of land where the work is done and shall submit to the City Council for consideration, hearing and /or objections, modification and confirmation, an itemized written report showing the cost, all as more particularly described by Government Code Section 39574. SECTION 3. The weed abatement costs, including a 100% administrative charge, shall be the responsibility of the property owner of the parcel of land where the work was done. SECTION 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
