JOINT MEETING 1/ <br /> FLEA 1110N UNIFIED 301001.Da1RICT <br /> March 14, 2016 <br /> TITLE: PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT FACILITY NEEDS UPDATE <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Receive information regarding the Pleasanton Unified School District's facility needs. <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Administration of the Pleasanton Unified School District would like to provide the <br /> Pleasanton City Council and the Board of Trustees with an overview of the District's facility <br /> needs. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> At the Joint Meeting on January 28, 2013, the Pleasanton City Council and Board of Trustees <br /> received an update on the District's Facilities Master Plan (FMP). The plan identifies school <br /> district facility needs in several categories including: <br /> • Student safety, parking, and drop-off reconfigurations <br /> • Modernization of existing building systems <br /> • Program reconfigurations and renovations <br /> • New standard classrooms <br /> • Kindergarten improvements <br /> • Performing Arts/Theatre <br /> • Libraries/Leaming Centers <br /> • Outdoor learning/landscape and hardscape <br /> • Classroom Flexibility/fumishings <br /> • Technology and data network capabilities <br /> • Other items as noted in FMP <br /> The FMP identified approximately$500M in facility related needs. The District is proceeding <br /> with conducting a community survey to understand the community support for a potential <br /> bond. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> As noted <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
