Subject: FW:Ordinance No.2133 - Lund Ranch II PUD
C k MG TAL
From:] Provided to the City Council
Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2016 11:51 AM After Dietribution of Paoiet
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Ordinance No. 2133 - Lund Ranch II PUD to 3
Honorable Mayor Thorne and City Council Members,
We want to thank you again for your careful and thoughtful evaluation of the Lund II PUD-25. As we have
mentioned at previous City Council meetings,we recognize there were many items that needed to be
considered as you addressed the plan for this development (e.g. Measure PP, previous neighborhood
agreements, General Plan, etc.). Although many within the City want all development to stop—or to limit this
PUD to 10 homes or less—we recognize that this is not a reasonable demand. We continue to believe that you
effectively weighed all the facts and numerous options, and that the current plan for a 43 home and 174 acre
open space project on a 195 acre site is fair and reasonable.
To that end, we ask that you:
- Not repeal the ordinance against which the referendum petition has been filed, but rather submit the
ordinance to the voters at the next regular municipal election.
- Proceed with the timeline to get this item on the June 7, 2016 election ballot.
- Approve the ballot language for the ballot question as noted in Option 3 with one minor exception:
add a reference to indicate this project is in "southeast" Pleasanton.
Neither of us wanted this referendum, and we believe our community was horribly mislead throughout the
signature gathering process (in far too many ways to address in this email). That said, the one thing that the
petition collectors did express to numerous people who signed—that should now be adhered to given they
have taken this process to this level—is that their signature on the petition would allow them the opportunity
to vote on this issue.
It is unfortunate that the personal interests of a small group within Pleasanton, have misstated the facts to our
community and are trying to manipulate and hide behind Measure PP. Please don't let these mistruths
continue. Let's get this on the June ballot so that this issue can be finalized once and for all.
Regards,
Bill and Carolyn Spain
1068 Hancock Court
Pleasanton, CA 94566
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
