RESOLUTION NO. 16-821 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE ALL <br /> DOCUMENTS AND TAKE ALL ACTIONS NEEDED TO EFFECTUATE THE SALE OF <br /> 309 NEAL STREET SUBJECT TO A CONSERVATION EASEMENT, ESTABLISH AN <br /> ENDOWMENT WITH THE AMADOR LIVERMORE VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, <br /> PROVIDE FOR RECOGNITION OF JEAN P. JONES, AND OTHER MATTERS FOR <br /> DISPOSITION OF MS. JONES' ESTATE <br /> WHEREAS, Jean P. Jones was a long time Pleasanton resident who passed away in <br /> January 2015 leaving all of her real and personal property to the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, to effectuate Ms. Jones' will, the City will establish a conservation easement <br /> on 309 Neal Street to: (i) prevent its demolition; (ii) require that any exterior modifications be <br /> subject to the City's design review process for historic homes; and (iii) establish an easement <br /> for a commemorative plaque to be placed in front of the home; and <br /> WHEREAS, proceeds from the sale of 309 Neal Street and other estate assets are to be <br /> placed in an endowment with the Amador Livermore Valley Historical Society to support historic <br /> preservation and local history, as such historical society was named in Ms. Jones' will. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Authorizes the City Manager and City Attorney, and their designees, to <br /> execute all documents and take all actions needed to establish the conservation easement for <br /> 309 Neal Street, the sale of 309 Neal Street to a private party subject to such easements, the <br /> sale or disposition of other personal property from Ms. Jones' estate, the creation of a plaque for <br /> 309 Neal Street to commemorate Ms. Jones and the history of the home, the establishment of <br /> an endowment with the Amador Livermore Valley Historical Society with the estate's proceeds, <br /> and all other actions needed for the disposition of Ms. Jones' estate. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on February 2, 2016. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on February 2, 2016, by <br /> the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: Mayor Thorne <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Karen ►I iaz, City lerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Date: <br /> lie Harryman, Interim City Attorney <br />
