1943,the property was a single-story dwelling with a bay window and partial-length front porch on the main elevation, and an offset rear
block with wrap-around porch on the southeast corner The property contained a barn in the location of the present barn structure and,
in 1943,the playhouse the Wests constructed for their daughter Jean(Sanborn 1907, 1929, 1943)Review of City of Pleasanton
porch on the primary elevation, hipped roof form, cutaway bay window, decorative emphasis on the gable, porch, and bay window,
spindle and turned work on the porch, and decorative wood shingles The property retains a high degree of integrity of setting, design,
material, feeling, and association, retaining historic form and a high proportion of historic interior and exterior finish materials The
property appears to be one of the most intact historic properties of this type in the downtown area of Pleasanton
309 Neal Street is also associated with the history of civic development and medicine in Pleasanton as a hospital site in the early
twentieth century However, the property has lost association with this context with reconversion to residential use in the 1930s The
property is not associated with persons significant in the history of Pleasanton
