CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 752 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 12 (GEOLOGIC HAZARDS) TO <br /> TITLE II (ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT) OF THE ORDINANCE <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RELATING TO APPROVAL <br /> OF STRUCTURES FOR HUMAN OCCUPANCY OR NEW REAL ESTATE <br /> DEVELOPMENTS IN GEOLOGIC HAZARD SPECIAL STUDIES ZONES <br /> AND ADOPTING THE SAME AS AN URGENCY MEASURE. <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 12 (Geologic Hazards) is hereby added <br /> <br />to Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> CHAPTER 12 , GEOLOGIC HAZARDS. <br /> <br /> Sec. 2-19.01. Purpose of Chapter <br /> <br /> The purpose of the provisions of this chapter is to <br /> require the consideration of geologic hazards when <br /> considering applications and permits for new real <br /> estate developments or structures for human occupancy. <br /> <br /> Section 2-19.02. Definitions <br /> <br /> For the purposes of this chapter, certain terms are <br /> defined as follows: <br /> <br /> a. Active fault. "Active fault" shall mean any <br /> fault which has had surface displacement within <br /> Holocene time. <br /> <br /> b. Applic_ation or approval. "Application or <br /> approval" shall mean the documents necessary <br /> for consideration of a land use request and <br /> the necessary authorization by various depart- <br /> ments and governmental bodies of the City <br /> before construction may proceed. These items <br /> shall include, but not be limited to, tentative <br /> maps, parcel maps, minor subdivisions, con- <br /> ditional use permits, variances and building <br /> pe rmi t s. <br /> <br /> c. Director. "Director" shall mean the Director <br /> of Housing and Community Development or his <br /> duly appointed representative. <br /> <br /> d. Fault trace. "Fault trace" shall mean the <br /> line formed by the intersection of a fault and <br /> the earth's surface and also shall mean the <br /> representation of a fault as depicted on a map. <br /> <br /> e. Fault zone. "Fault zone" shall mean an area <br /> comprising related faults which commonly are <br /> braided and subparallel but may be branching <br /> and divergent. <br /> <br /> <br />
