Section 2-19.10. Additional Regulations. In addition to the regulations set forth in this chapter, the Department of Housing and Community Development, with the consent of the City Council, may adopt such standards or regulations as are necessary to protect the public from seismic hazards. These standards or regulations may be more stringent than, but shall not be in conflict with, the provisions of any policies and criteria adopted by the State Mining and Geology Board pursuant to Section 2623 of the Public Resources Code of the State of California. Ex- cept where more stringent standards or regulations have been adopted, the policies and criteria adopted from time to time by the State Mining and Geology Board shall apply within the City of Pleasanton. Section 2. Severability. The City Council hereby declares that, should any section, paragraph, sentence, or word of this ordinance be declared invalid for any reason, the Council would have passed all other portions of this ordinance independent of the elimination here- from of any such portion as may be declared invalid. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be published once in "THE TIMES," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton and shall become effective thirty (30) days after the date of such publication.
